A!

I've been inspired by my friend, Laura Beth. She is homeschooling her daughter who is pre-school age. I know Tripp hasn't reached that age yet, but I thought I'd try my hand at a little "home schooling" myself. Taking LB's lead (& other bloggers), we jumped right in with the letter A. It was a slow start, but after a little research, I was overloaded with ideas and thought I may have to spend 2 weeks per letter, instead of just one week! These are a few of the things we did...

2.) Wore our Airplane shirt & our Aubie hat

3.) Looked for Ants on the ground and Airplanes in the sky

4.) Ate lots of Applesauce and drank lots of Apple juice (this, however, is normal for every week!)

5.) Read our book from Sugar about Noah and the Ark

6.) Listened/watched Johnny Appleseed

7.) Put together an Alligator puzzle

8.) Sidewalk chalk was used to draw many A's on the driveway, along with alligators, apples, ants, airplanes

9.) Colored the A is for Apple page and practiced the sign

10.) Read our A books from the library

11.) Ate Asparagus one night for dinner (he hated it, but it was worth a shot)

12.) Listened to the A sounds

13.) Made a paper Airplane using this template

We have had an Awesome week! And although my allergies are driving me crazy, we are looking forward to a fun trip to Auburn. LS WHO?

Boys will be Boys

In preparation for hunting season, Dad & Will have been working on their cabin. After a recent football game, we stopped to hang out with them for a bit. Tripp had a blast, as you can see.

What is it about boys and driving? I'm sure it has something to do with their control issues, maybe?! :-)

I saved my favorite for last...Tripp and his PopPop.

Weekend in Prattville

This past weekend, our friends Adam & Sarah were married in Prattville. Adam is a high school friend of Allen's and we always have so much fun when we're together! I just love Sarah and we are so happy for both of them.

Attempting to go get a good family photo.
The DAV's showing off their dance moves (or lack thereof!)!
Tripp & Grandma Judy (notice the "mustache" on Tripp's lip - he'd just made a visit to the chocolate fountain).
Crazy Uncle Justin!
The beautiful bride!
Allen, Tripp & the Groom
Tripp in the middle of the dance floor with all the ladies!
MaMa Stacie celebrated Aunt Angela's birthday with us on Sunday. She and Tripp performed for us after cake & ice cream.
I love this picture of the two of them - it's hard to tell who's having more fun!

Tripp's Trip to the Zoo

D-Daddy & Grandma Judy treated Tripp to a trip to the Montgomery Zoo, and I got to tag along. We had so much fun, especially when the giraffe licked D-Daddy! To our dismay, Tripp is still showing us what the giraffe did...nothing like a little slobber from a soon-to-be 2-year old!

Ready to go!

He was particularly interested in the reptile section, which definitely worries his mama.

He liked the bengal tiger cubs, until they got too close for comfort!
He thought Grandma Judy was thirsty.

Before D-Daddy got kissed by the giraffe...
And after the smooch!

Thanks D-Daddy & Grandma Judy!

Allen's 30th Birthday!

I know I talk a lot about this guy...

but this guy, this guy, is THE ONE.
And I hope he had a HAPPY HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY!!
