Trip to the Naval Aviation Museum

I've been wanting to take Tripp here for a while.  Today was the day.  I was a little worried that he might be too young for it, but folks, let me tell you, HE.LOVED.IT!  There was so much to see and do.  To be honest, I'd really like to go back again, sans Tripp.  No offense to my little buddy, but there were so many exhibits where I wanted to linger, you know?  Tripp doesn't linger, he's full-speed ahead, all the time.

Not sure if he's smiling because he's flying an airplane, or because there's a girl in the cabin with him.

When I picked him up from pre-shool the other day, he was walking around with a clear plastic bucket on his head and telling everyone he was a "space man".  So, yes, he especially liked the Space exhibit.

I saved the play area for last and he had so much fun.  He staked his claim at this wheel and telescope and told everyone that came near he was a pirate!
We played here for about 30 minutes until I noticed him making his mad face and then pushing a little boy.  Well, he was acutally bigger and older than Tripp, but didn't defend himself!  I'm pretty sure he was very caught off-guard by this pirate growling 2-year-old.

What's a parent to do?  I coax him down the "fun" slide, gather up our belongings and leave.  There may have been a spanking involved once we got back to the car...
Although the last 5 minutes of our visit were pretty touch-and-go, overall, we had a great morning.

First Day! UPDATE

Those 4 hours flew by at lighting speed!  But I picked up one happy boy from preschool.

He wanted to see daddy before we went home so we could show him the "report card".  We asked him if he really was "gentle" today and he told us, "No, I push one of my friends."  (FAN-tastic.  Not really sure he understands the meaning of the word 'friend')  I asked him if one of his teachers saw him do it and he said "yes."  So then I asked him what his teacher said, and he (grinning really big), put his hand in the air, shook his finger, and said, "She say, 'no, no, no!'".

I'm guessing they cut him a little slack on the report card since it was his first day and all.   Sigh...

Ate all of his lunch - no surprise there.

By the time I pulled in the driveway, he had taken off his socks & shoes, and was practically snoring.

Now I have at least 2 hours of this....

Overall, I think it was a pretty good day!  I hope Tripp's friends feel the same way!

First Day!

No time for chit-chatting...I've only got 4 hours, you know!

Have you met my 10 year old?

Why does he look so old in this picture?!?!

Whew!  OK - this one looks a little better.  More like a baby.  But is it just me, or does he look really mean in this picture???

Oh, wait.  I found him!  There he is, with his puppy dog and sippee cup - my 2 1/2 year old baby.
( The one on the right is my 31 year old baby)

And speaking of 2 1/2 year olds, I saw this on pinterest via Laura Beth:

2, 10 or 30 - I don't care how old he is,
he'll always look just like this to me.
