Monkey See, Monkey Do

Tripp wants to be outside ALL.OF.THE.TIME. but since it's SO HOT, I've been trying to think of other, cooler things to do with him. We go to the splash pad just about every week, we go swimming, we go to the library & now we can add going to the museum to our list! There is a children's exhibit at the Pensacola Museum of Art so I thought we'd give it a try. He loved it! I hope they have another one soon.

Sorry about the quality of the pics-they were taken with my phone.

he was a little disappointed to realize he couldn't actually eat these :-)

The next museum I want to take him to is the Children's Museum in New Orleans. This was hands down one of my favorite places to go to when I was little! Tripp is actually just my excuse to visit again! Allen, when can we go?

My Dad is a Celebrity!

Click here to see my dad's television debut! And there's cousin Mason in the background. Speaking of Cousin May-May, check out this great picture of him & his girlfriend Lindsey...
They came to Pensacola a few weeks ago and we got to have dinner (& a lot of fun!) with them. Mitchell & Kristin also joined us. Check out the pic of Mitch before a drink...

& then Mitch after a drink...
ha! ha! just kidding!

And of course my two favorite boys before dinner...
Does anyone else see a halo? I mean, I'm pretty sure I see a halo. You all see it, right? :-)

State of Confusion

Tripp went to Greenville for a few days while Allen and I did some landscaping & much needed cleaning out. It's very hard to get anything done when Tripp is around (no offense, Mister T). Prior to coming back home, I'd heard a few reports about Tripp's "temper tantrums". I had to be honest & tell the folks "back home" that I had no idea what they were talking about. And then Tripp came home...the child I sent to Greenville and the child that returned are TOTALLY different. Not sure what happened, but this is the look I've had on my face all week...
(please pay no attention to the double chins)

To say the least, I haven't really known how to handle this very decisive child of mine. He has certain ideas about things and if they don't go his way, well, he'll definitely let you know. As any parent probably knows, when a child goes to the grandparents (& great-grandparents, in this case), they come back slightly off schedule. I've worked diligently on getting him back on track, I've cut out ALL vanilla wafer & push-up intake, & I've ignored his fits. Thankfully, he's calmed down (a little).
